Kecak and Fire Dance Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot - Bali, Jl. Tanah Lot, Kabupaten Tabanan, Bali 82171

Descriptions

The Kecak Dance at Tanah Lot is a traditional Balinese performance held in the open air near the iconic Tanah Lot sea temple. Performed at sunset, the dance is famous for its powerful “cak-cak-cak” chanting, created by a large group of male performers sitting in a circle. Unlike most Balinese dances, Kecak uses no musical instruments—the rhythm and energy come entirely from human voices and movements.

The story usually comes from the Ramayana epic, focusing on Prince Rama, Princess Sita, the demon king Ravana, and the monkey warrior Hanuman. The dramatic chanting, expressive hand gestures, and fire elements combine with the ocean and sunset backdrop, creating a memorable cultural experience.
